Local Guincho beach | Location
The house is ideally situated in a rural setting, at the foot of the Sintra hills, 5km from beautiful Guincho beach and 7km from cosmopolitan Cascais and Estoril. This is an ideal location for nature lovers, being in the Sintra-Cascais protected National Park where building is very restricted. There is good walking, with an abundance of wild flowers, birds and animals. Yet the motorway is only 4km away, making Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra accessible in under 30 minutes. The stunning sea views are what set this house apart; the clever design with large glass areas blend the inside from the outside and you really feel you are on top of the sea from many areas! Building is very restricted in the Sintra-Cascais, especially so close to the sea edge, so this is a very priviledged location. With a large swimming pool, beautiful grounds in a 10,000m2 private estate, close to the beach and the many attractions of Cascais, Lisbon and Sintra, this house offers an ideal setting for a perfect holiday. A previous summer home for a couple of tennis lovers, the property provides you also with peace and privacy amongst the beauty and tranquility of nature. The village of Malveira da Serra is 2km away, with a range of shops and restaurants. The village retains its traditional charm as building is restricted, and has long been sought after due to the beauty of its setting, with the coast stretched out below, and the forest and mountain above.
Sintra, a world heritage site with its castle, palaces and gardens set in lush vegetation and enjoying ravishing views is a lovely 15 minute car drive across the mountain.
Locally, there is a huge choice of the latest films in original language with over twenty screens in four local cinema complexes reachable within 10 minutes, as are two attractive shopping centres. The summer brings international festivals; classical music and ballet in Sintra, jazz in Estoril and fireworks in Cascais. | | In the coastal resort of Cascais you will find superb beaches, restaurants, night-life and shopping, as well as a charming old town with rewarding site-seeing. Lisbon is half an hour away, and with easy access to the motorway system a number of other world class cultural and historic sites make an enjoyable day trip. The motorway network puts the Knights Templars’ castle and chapels at Tomar and Batalha within an easy day trip, as well as the ancient university town of Coimbra. Quinta das Acacias - Surface area : 300 m2
You will feel you are in a special place as soon as you cross the security gates of Quinta das Acacias. The magnificent gardens with the ocean at your feet will instantly relax you in this priviledged space of total privacy. This spacious villa is entered from a large entrance hall with an indoor garden. Straight ahead we have a very large living room with the most stunning view from the large glass doors which can open and connect to the outside terrace and gardens. A large fireplace provides the focal point. Beyond we find the pretty dining room with a large fully equipped kitchen at the back. The main bedroom is accessed via its own study which can double up as a twin bedroom. This large double bedroom has a lovely glass alcove from which you can appreciate the incredible sea view reading a book or simply resting. The en-suite bathroom is large and well fitted; a jacuzzi bath adds to your experience of relaxation and well-being. To the left of the hall a guest toilet room is found. A twin bedroom with its own bathroom is also also accessed from the hall. From the kitchen what used to be the servant's quarters are accessed. There you find two interconnecting rooms with a double bed, and a shower room. Descending steps from the living room, the games room, with a ping pong table, is accessed . This room opens up via glass doors to the lawn and swimming pool area. The view is exceptionally breathtaking. In this floor there is another bathroom with a wonderful tile panel depicting a tennis scene. By the swimming pool a large built-in barbecue is located. There is plenty of outdoor furniture and sunbeds. Down steps in the large private garden, a full size clay tennis court is found. There is a further bathroom and shower room by the tennis court. Getting there and around
Less than two hours flight from most European cities and seven hours from New York, the house can be reached by car or taxi from Lisbon Airport in 30-40 minutes. Located in the protected national park of Cascais-Sintra, the property is only 4km from the motorway and so half an hour from Lisbon and its cultural attractions and night life. Taxis are available and cheap, and there is a bus to Cascais and Sintra; but to get the best out of your holiday we advise car hire, as there is so much to see which is not accessible by public transport. |
