The pleasant sandy beach of Cascais is 10 minutes walking distance. There are a series of beaches along the coast to Estoril, each with an individual character. The beaches provide every amenity such as sun beds and parasols, and there are numerous restaurants and cafés on the adjacent promenade. Cascais is close to the romantic world heritage town of Sintra and half an hour from the centre of Lisbon. Beaches You can sample a different beach every day even if you stayed a month! The local beaches within walking distance have quiet waters. Further afield, Guincho beach, world renowned for its beauty and surfing, is six kilometers away. Many other sandy beaches are close by, each with its own individual character. Several beaches less than half an hour’s drive North along the coast are well worth exploring, as are some excellent fish restaurants.

T he Apartment - Quinta da Gandarinha - Surface area : 175 m2 / 1870 sqft | This light and elegant apartment is set in landscaped gardens containing 2 swimming pools exclusive to residents. The apartment is always beautifully cool in the summer and the natural ventilation means there is no need for air conditioning. The condominium offers security and tranquility with a gate house staffed 24 hours a day and underground parking with direct lift access. The large living room has seating for seven, a working fireplace and formal dining area, and opens through a door to the large terrace with cozy furniture to rest or enjoy "al Fresco" meals. Both bedrooms are spacious & have fitted cupboards with ample storage space; one bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. Both bathrooms have a bath with shower attachment. The modern fully equipped kitchen is decorated with traditional Portuguese hand painted tile panels and has a lovely breakfast area. The kitchen is provided with a washing machine, drier, dishwasher and all other modern equipment. Getting there and around
Less than two hours flight from most European cities and seven hours from New York, the apartment can be reached by car or taxi from Lisbon Airport in 40 minutes via the A5 motorway or the more scenic road along the river to Cascais.
The apartment is so well situated and transport is so good that you can opt for a car free holiday. There is a full variety of local shops and restaurants within walking distance. There is a bus service (BusCas) every seven minutes to the town centre and train station. Taxis are close by or can be ordered. The picturesque train ride along the Tagus river estuary to Lisbon takes 35 minutes. |
