Location

Located in Estoril in a quiet residential area within 10 minutes walk from the beach and 5 minutes walk from the local train station, this house is ideal for a car free vacation.

The coastal train takes you on a pleasant 25 minute ride to Lisbon (20 km away) and in 5 minutes it will take you to the famous Estoril and Cascais centres. Sintra is a bus ride away and there are several buses right next to the train station, which provide easy access to the attractions in the region.

The lovely sandy beach of Azaruja is easily reached in a 10 minute walk. There are many other beaches to chose from along the beautiful Estoril-Cascais coast, all connected via a beautiful seaside walk.  The walk takes you all the way to the centre of Cascais in 20 minutes.
 

Estoril became famous during the Second World War as a safe haven for spies and the nobility. Its microclimate continues to attract tourists all year round; hot in the summer and mild in winter.

 
The Estoril Casino, the biggest in Europe, is a favourite attraction, while the yearly summer arts and crafts fair is also a short drive from the house and a short walk from the Estoril train station.
 
The Cascais Marina, with its boats, restaurants and buzzing night-life is a 10 minute drive.
 
Within walking distance, you have 2 pharmacies, a bank, a small shopping centre with a supermarket, as well as several cafés and shops.  
 

 

 The charming, historic town centres of Estoril and Cascais are 5 minutes away from the house by train or car, or 20 minutes walk.  There is plenty to visit of historic interest as well as restaurants, nightlife, cultural events, cinemas with films in English and shopping. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Beaches

You can sample a different beach every day even if you stayed a month!  The local beaches within walking distance have quiet waters. Further afield,  Guincho beach, world renowned for its beauty and surfing, is six kilometres away. Many other sandy beaches are close by, each with its own individual character.  Several beaches less than half an hour’s drive North along the coast are well worth exploring, as are some excellent fish restaurants.

 

Golf Details
Portugal is a paradise where the golfer can play almost every day of the year. Every course offers new and surprising landscapes, backed up by excellent services and facilities. Internationally renowned Estoril Golf Course is a 10 minute drive.

 

 There are 6 courses within an 8 km range, with plenty to offer beginner and advanced player alike. The Estoril Golf Club is 3km away.

Casa das Pedras  - Surface area : 250m2, Garden :  800m2  

A pleasant house in a residential area with garden and swimming pool giving value for money, it offers spacious and comfortable accommodation in a very practical location. The house extends over 3 floors, and accommodates parties of up to 8 people in its 3 bedrooms and living room.
 
The house is divided into two separate units with their own entrance and gate. The ground floor unit is occupied by the owners who have a different entrance and gate in order not to disturb the guests during their stay.
 
The 1st and 2nd floors, as well as the garden, swimming pool and terrace on the top of the house are used by the guests and are totally separate from the rest of the house.  However, please note the house dog, very friendly and playful, remains in the garden.
On the entrance level of Casa das Pedras there is a guest toilet and a fully equipped functional and spacious kitchen with breakfast area. On this floor we also find a separate lovely dining area opening on to the garden and swimming pool.   This is a bright sunny room, an invitation to many social moments.

A staircase leads to the upper floor of the house where the 3 bedrooms and living room are situated.
There are two bathrooms on this floor, one of which is en-suite. Two of the bedrooms have small balconies with views to the garden and swimming pool, while the living room has a seating area for up to 8 people with a double sofa bed in a side area. It also connects, via a staircase, to a terrace on the roof. The terrace has a lovely view over the neighbourhood, the sea and the coast.

The garden is on different levels, with lawns and terrace areas next to the large 8m x 4m swimming pool, ideal for spending relaxing moments and for the children to have fun.  There is a barbecue and garden furniture, as well as deck-chairs and a parasol. A lovely and very friendly playful dog, belonging to the owners, lives in the outside area and will provide hours of fun for the children.  The outdoor table and chairs are an ideal place to enjoy delicious barbecued meals.

The house is well shaded in the summer months, never getting too hot; nevertheless it does have air conditioning which also provides heating in the winter.

 

The local sandy beaches provide every amenity such as sunbeds and parasols, and there are numerous restaurants, cafés and amenities on the adjacent promenade.

 

The very famous Santini Italian ice-cream shop is a major local attraction and is a 5 minute walk.

Getting there and around

Less than two hours flight from most European cities and seven hours from New York, the house can be reached by car from Lisbon Airport in 25 minutes via the A5 motorway or the more scenic road along the river and ocean towards Cascais. 
 
The house is so well situated and transport is so good that you can opt for a car free holiday.
 
There is a full variety of local shops and restaurants within walking distance. The pleasant coastal train connecting Lisbon and Cascais is within 5 minutes walk; the picturesque train ride along the Tagus river estuary to Lisbon takes 25 minutes. Taxis are close by or can be ordered.
