The Villa Quinta da Vala, set in a 5 acres private property to which guests have exclusive use, is located in the Parque Nacional da Serra da Arrabida, 5 Km away from beautiful beaches and 5 Km away from Vila Nogueira de Azeitao- a small historic town sorrounded by the national park and well known for its vineyards and wine cellars open to the public. Arrabida beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal, and boasts a natural bay with calm waters, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. the area is also famous for its food so it won't be difficult to find high quality well priced local restaurants as well as top quality ones. Taste the delights of the region from the traditional cheese, deemed to be one of the best in the country, to the Torta de Azeitao, a much sought after local pastry, and the famous Moscatel wine, a sweet wine served as an aperitif. The local speciality is of course a great variety of fresh fish dishes. |
The beautiful villa, is situated in the national park of Arrabida, established to protect the beautiful landscape and rich variety of wild life, including eagles, wildcats and badgers. The sorounding mountains are the perfect place to go for a walk, and excursions can be organised with the local nature tour companies. The villa is just 5 Km away from the small delightfull historic town of Vila Nogueira de Azeitao, which is known for its vineyards and wine cellars; the town is a perfect place to try out the local cuisine. The local white sandy beaches are as close as 5 Km and the Arrabida beach is known to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. | Satellite wide screen TV with international channels, Wireless Broadband internet access, iPod sound system, DVD with Surround Sound and a large collection of films to watch are avalible for guests' enjoyment. The Villa has 5 good sized bedrooms, a sitting room, a dining room and a fully fitted kitchen. There is also a service area with an additional small room and WC. Facing the house, a wide lawn dominates the background. At the end of the path surrounded by vines lies the swimming pool with its own patio area. This is the ideal place to enjoy nature, bird watching and for long walks in unspoiled surroundings, all in close proximity to spectacular beaches.
There are 6 spacious bedrooms in the house, but a maximum of 5 will be made available, chosen to best suit the group's requirements. Guests are welcome to pick and enjoy the delicious organic fruit and vegetables grown in the Quinta. |
Getting there and around
Two hours flight from most European cities and seven from New York, the villa is reached by car from Lisbon Airport in 45 minutes. A car is essential for this holiday as there is no public transport to the Villa. The Algarve-Lisbon highway is 12 kilometres away. The nearest railway station is at 15 Km, in Coina. |
