Location
White Roses is situated by the village of Colares near Sintra - 2km from the beautiful beaches of Praia Grande and Praia das Macas, 10km to central Sintra, 25 to Cascais and 40km from Lisbon.
 
The pleasant local village offers restaurants and shops within an easy stroll.  The nearest  restaurant is 50m and the supermarket is 100m away.

White Roses cottage is in a quiet residential street, within the grounds of a villa where the owners live.  They are delighted to recommend restaurants and shops, and to give any directions, information or local hints to make guests’ stay more enjoyable.

  
The area is part of the Sintra-Cascais National Park, where building is restricted.  The whole area has abundant flora and is ideal for nature lovers.  Many beautiful walks can be done from your doorstep, inlcuding reaching the beautiful Praia das Macas ou Praia Grande beaches.
 

 

 The beautiful gardens have a sheltered area and a great barbecue with seating. Children will love the freedom and open spaces.

Pedestrian walks and tours

A number of pedestrian walks can be started from the house, with very interesting itineraries.  To take maximum advantage of the experience, the local agent Fuga Perfeita can accompany you, with group sizes as small as four people. For more information click here.

Beaches

The villa is surrounded by many beaches, all with different characteristics.  The closest are Praia Grande and Praia das Macas, both 2km away.  Nearby Cascais and Estoril beaches have quiet waters.  World famous Guincho beach offers a wilder panorama with waves and surf.  Praia da Adraga offers beautiful shelter on windy days.

White Roses Cottage  - Surface area : 70 m2
White Roses cottage is a typical home of the area; it offers the beautiful country Sintra feeling with many artistic touches. White Roses is very homely and cozy.

The living room, on the ground floor, is spacious and airy, with seating and dining areas for six; the kitchen is fully equipped.

 

From there the second optional bedroom is accessed; this is a very spacious bedroom measuring 8m*12m.

 

Outside there is a lovely large garden with outdoor furniture and an inviting barbecue area.

 

The first bedroom on the first floor is accessed via steps from the living room.  There is plenty of storage space.

Getting there and around
Two hours flight from most European cities and seven from New York, the house is reached by car from Lisbon Airport in 40 minutes.
 
A car is not essential for this holiday as there are buses taking you to Sintra (every 15 minutes) in one direction and Cascais (every hour) in the other.
 
The beautifully restored tram will take you to either Sintra or Praia das Macas beach and is an attraction in itself.
 
If you want to fully explore the area we do recommend a car however as many attractions are only accessible by car.
